The supernatural Fox procedural pulled in 6.9 million viewers and climbed in the adults 18-to-49-demo. Its lead-in, Bones (9.9 million viewers) was also way up compared to the last several weeks. Conversely, FlashForward 's final episode before a just-announced long hiatus slipped 8 percent in the demo to a new series low and pulled in 7.3 million viewers. 'Steven Seagal Lawman' posts arresting ratings for A&E

A show following Steven Seagal's exploits as a sheriff's deputy in Louisiana set a record for a series launch on A&E Wednesday. "Steven Seagal Lawman" debuted to 3.5 million viewers Wednesday night, breaking A&E's record for the premiere of an original series -- which had stood for all of two days. The season premiere of "Hoarders" on Monday drew 3.2 million people. "Lawman" also drew 2 million people in the adults 18-49 demographic, again breaking a mark set by "Hoarders" (1.9 million) on Monday. "Steven Seagal Lawman" follows the martial artist and action-movie star on his patrols as a deputy for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana (where he's moonlighted for the past 20 years). Critics have highlighted its unintentional comedy, but viewers didn't seem to mind (or maybe were hoping for it). 'American Idol,' 'Lost,' represent network TV for the Producers Guild Award nominees

Another sign that network TV is falling behind cable -- the four big networks only represent 30% of the Producers Guild Awards , including comedies "30 Rock" and "The Office." Out of the four television categories, only six of the 20 PGA-nominated shows are from ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX. They are "30 Rock," "60 Minutes," "The Amazing Race," "American Idol," "Lost" and "The Office." Cable networks such as A&E, Bravo, HBO and Showtime dominate the nominations, another example of the growing TV trend where the best shows get made for cable channels. 'New Moon' box office even bigger than estimated

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" had one of the biggest opening weekends in box-office history -- and now that the official figures are in, the movie did even a little better than first estimated. Final box-office figures for the weekend say "New Moon" took in $142.8 million, up a couple million bucks from the weekend estimates of $140.7 million. That's more than double what "Twilight" made in its first three days a year ago ($69.6 million) and almost three-quarters of its predecessor's total take domestically. It trails only "The Dark Knight" ($158.4 million) and "Spider-Man 3" ($151.1 million) for the best opening weekend ever. "New Moon" took in another $118.1 million overseas, giving it a worldwide total of better than $260 million. In other words, that's really, really, really good. The movie also led what will likely be the second-biggest overall weekend at the box office ever. 'Twilight: New Moon' makes box office history

"Twilight: New Moon" has surpassed "The Dark Knight" to have the most successful opening day at the box office ever, earning $72.7 million. It hardly comes as a surprise, considering "New Moon" took in a record-setting $26 million at its midnight showings Thursday night. However, the $72 million on opening day absolutely smashed the previous record of $67 million, held by "The Dark Knight." It will be interesting to see what "New Moon" does to the three-day weekend numbers of "The Dark Knight," which earned $158.4 million its first box office weekend. Critics have not been kind to "New Moon," but we don't think it will effect the numbers too much. "New Moon" has doubled the $36 million opening day take for "Twilight" from a year ago. If this trend continues, "Breaking Dawn" will open to almost $290 million in one day.
